Before the Day

  1. After an initial enquiry, we shall meet up and discuss your plans. I show you some of my wedding magazines and answer any questions. I am happy to meet at a time and place that is convenient to you. Alternatively, you can meet me at my friendly office in Putney with a coffee. If you are out of London we could always facetime.

  2. I will provide you with a beautiful wedding folder which includes a printed price list, frequently asked questions, notes to help plan your day, and a special JT Guide for Brides to help you think about how to get the best possible photos on the day. Included is also your contract and details for a deposit to secure the booking.

  3. Once you’ve confirmed, we chat about an engagement shoot and you pick a place you love and feel relaxed in. This always comes included as part of my package, and often even the most nervous clients feel they relax fully with a practice run! Alternatively, we can do a less formal shoot to get you used to the camera (I’ve photographed at birthday parties, family bbq’s and engagement parties).

  4. We always have a chat on the phone before the wedding to run through all the details. I usually organise a call 3-7 days before the wedding to talk through any final changes, all the important people you want me to capture as well as the time plan for the day and any important logistics.

  5. I arrive early, or the night before, and look around to ensure I know where everything is.

On the Day

  1. On the big day I arrive whenever you would like me to. I would suggest that I get to you whilst you are half-way through getting ready. But I would have already been to the venue or church to capture those special pre-wedding moments. The cake always looks the best just as it has been dressed and the marquee always looks perfect before anyone has walked on the carpet!

  2. During the day I move discretely around your wedding, always blending in with the dress code. I capture the day as it unfolds. I can stay as late as you like and never leave before the fireworks or any key events. I never charge for any extra time on the wedding day, I’m with you all day - all in. I’ve even captured a couple as they’ve walked into their hotel room!

  3. On the day you should not really notice me, I’ll blend into the crowd but I will request a little bit of one on one time for those special couple photos. I love to capture the early evening light and to be a little adventurous away from the hustle and bustle of the wedding party. This does not take long and usually the time your guests are taking to sit down for dinner is an excellent opportunity to sneak away.

  4. Relax and trust me to capture your very special photos and if you have any trustworthy ushers or bridesmaids I will liaise with them on the day.

After the Day

  1. I quickly provide a beautifully edited sample of up to 100 photos. The details of how to access your secure online gallery will be e-mailed directly to you as you fly off on your Honeymoon. (Download my app ahead of time for even faster viewing).

  2. I know how important the first week after the wedding is to family who want to share the day immediately with absent friends and family. What I produce is plenty for a small album that can be printed within a few days of the wedding for granny’s coffee table!

  3. Over the next 6 weeks I work on the rest of your photos and send you a link to your own personalised gallery. You will then receive a beautifully wrapped and boxed set of prints.

  4. Once you return from Honeymoon everything will be hand delivered or posted to you.

  5. Once you have had some time to enjoy your photographs and select your favourites, I can organise making a bespoke wedding album for you to treasure for ever.

Extra ideas to make your day memorable and to make your life easier

Thank you Cards

We can order thank you cards for you while you are on your honeymoon. You can pick from your highlights which we send within 48 hours.

Specialist Printing

We include all your prints as a complementary service but if you would like extras or enlargements for framing do let me know.

Second photographer

I can always offer a second photographer. I have a fantastic team who I work with including a number of excellent colleagues in the industry who I like to use as my second shooter. They can capture different angles, extra details and are always in a different place to me, photographing guests arrive at church while I capture the final moment of the bride getting ready. A second shooter can also capture different reactions in church, help to capture the confetti moment and assist me with large whole group shots. A second shooter is often a good idea if you are having a large wedding of over 200 people.

If you think you might like to book a second photographer I can talk it through with you.

Albums

Undoubtedly still the best way to showcase your photographs, you cannot beat it. I work with you, personally designing, to ensure this is perfect. Get in touch for more information.

 FAQ

170805_highlights_0088.jpg

Do you travel for weddings?

I can and have travelled anywhere in the world. I’ve photographed weddings in Australia, Corfu, Austrian ski resorts, France and a tiny private island in the very north of Scotland. Most of my weddings do tend to be in London, the home counties and the Cotswolds. If I do need to add expenses for travel I will make this as simple and cost effective for you.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes I do. Often I get several requests for the same date (certain Saturdays tend to be extremely popular). I always pencil a client in until they pay a 25% deposit to secure the date. Following your enquiry and initial consultation, you will be left with all of the details of how to pay and a contract to sign. We can then proceed with the planning once payment has been made.

What do you wear?

I dress to blend in with your guests. I ask what the dress code is and follow suit! From morning dress to linen suits I aim to blend in and do my best not to stand out from the crowd.

Do you need a tour of the area/venue before?

This is something we discuss at our meeting. There are several venues and locations I know very well. If I need to travel up the night before I often do a recce then or very early in the morning. I am happy to sneak into the Church to have a look and can happily attend the rehearsal if time permits.

The vicar has strict rules and I have some VIP guests what do you do about this?

I am very well practiced with people in positions of authority. I’ve photographed in areas of high security and with people who prioritise privacy. This has included weddings at St James's Palace, Clarence House, St Paul’s Cathedral, The Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. No images will appear on my website or on my social media without permission. I am very discrete with some of my clients who wish to keep their day out of the public eye.

Will you upload photos on Instagram without our permission?

We always discuss your social media expectations. We have very clear boxes for you to tick to allow us to share and your requests are part of the contract you will fill in allowing us to share with your other suppliers as well as on our website and social media pages.

Do you charge for extra time for preparations or a late finish?

Definitely not, I’m there all day for you.

Can you photograph the night before or next day lunch?

Of course I can, I do it often and we can discuss this and the extra cost involved at our meeting.

How soon will we receive our photos?

You receive up to 100 beautifully edited highlights of the day within 48 hours. The rest of your photographs will follow within 6 weeks (usually averaging around 4 weeks).

Are you insured?

Yes fully insured, worldwide.

What equipment do you use?

After receiving my first camera as a gift from my father I have stuck with Canon throughout my whole career. Owning the latest cameras from their 5D and 1D series I am prepared for all weather conditions and I love taking full advantage of their speed to capture those fleeting moments.

In addition I also use the latest Sony Alpha cameras for their quietness and subtlety for those intimate moments.

My array of lenses allows me to photograph from a distance during the ceremony or right up close on the dance floor, and I have back ups of everything.

The style was exactly what we were hoping for and we had lots of comments from family and friends on how many excellent shots there were. Josh was lovely to have around too, always friendly and helpful and not afraid to put in the hours to make sure the whole day was captured
