Hello I’m Joshua Tucker

Weddings enable me to capture once in a lifetime moments, and I take pride in delivering a truly personalised and specialist service.

My Australian blood has given me a relaxed approach to my work and life, enabling me to create the calm and comfortable atmosphere needed on your wedding day.

I live in the beautiful village of Eydon, Northamptonshire with my wife Bethan, daughters Martha & Leonora and shiny black lab Pepper. I am in London regularly each week and happily travel anywhere for weddings. Living through the excitement of having two daughters has only firmed up my belief in fully enjoying each and every second. On your wedding day, you will be living and enjoying every moment so leave the story telling to me.

Travel and the outdoors are a great passion of mine and I love to to take along my vintage Nikon FM2 film camera for these trips. It is a beautiful reminder to slow down and look for those perfect moments.

I take a discrete approach to photographing weddings, dressing to blend in with your guests. By doing so, I am able to capture those vanishing moments in time. These are honest, natural images which I edit in a truthful way to hold their own in years to come.

My style and service

Timeless Style, careful balance

‘Your style was natural and fun but with enough formality so everyone was included’

‘The photos capture the day just as I remember it, in a hazy glow of colour and fun’

‘A great balance of formal and informal, fun, serious and he even came early to snap the photos of the early morning swim’

My photos are honest and timeless representing reality without over editing or adding filters. This enables you to remember the day just how it was in all its beauty. I aim to capture the atmosphere to ensure the day can be re-lived with real emotion to effortlessly evoke those memories forever.

Your wedding day unfolds whilst being captured naturally, but with a careful balance to ensure there is some formality in order to capture all the right people and the finer details. We plan ahead to secure your selected group shots and discuss your individual photographs, but the rest of the day I will move around discretely using my knowledge and experience to spot those moments.

For the formal photos I try to keep logistics succinct, never over complicating them so that you and your family can really enjoy the day.

Invisible, unobtrusive & discrete

‘You blended into our family and friends with ease so it felt like you were part of the celebrations’

‘Professional to a ‘t’ and unobtrusive on the day’

‘Thank you for capturing our wedding in such a beautiful and timeless way. So many of our family and friends commented on your calming and non-intrusive manner’

Discrete and invisible is how I aim to be. I am extremely sensitive and experienced when it comes to key moments, especially highly formal venues. I’ve captured weddings in St James’s Palace, Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament, where the rules and regulations for photography are structured with limited flexibility. This does not faze me and I’m used to the formal discussions with those in senior religious or organisational positions.

The ability to use fully silent cameras for sensitive moments has enabled me to take photos at times and places which would otherwise have been missed or limited.

To aide my disguise, I always dress to blend into the occasion. You tell me how your guests are likely to dress and I’ll blend in. From morning dress to linen suits, I join in to ensure I am not noticed and can work to my full potential.

Professional, Calm & kind

‘So professional and calm, you made us feel completely relaxed’

‘Someone who was a dream to have around’

‘Thank you Josh for getting to know us so well and for making us feel so comfortable’

‘He made us feel at ease and gave us a reassuring thumbs up whenever he cought our eye after a good photo which we really appreaciated’

Wedding days are filled with lots of emotion and nerves, there is nothing worse than an additional person getting in the way. I usually sneak off to photograph the church or marquee as it is being finally set up. I then head off and photograph your dress, shoes and any special details.

On the day I do all I can to make you feel relaxed and at ease. I’m quiet, calm and relaxed which will keep you at ease on the day.

An engagement shoot always comes included, so we will have already built a relationship. You will therefore know enough about me to feel comfortable, knowing exactly what I am doing and with the confidence I will capture the whole essence of the day.

Service, speed & care

‘You provided the perfect photographic service resulting in this spectacular aray of stunning images’

‘Joshua cares about capturing your wedding memories as much as you do’

‘He is the dream to work with and we had our photos back before any of our friends. It was so amazing to receive a large selection of highlights the very next day. Wow!’

My top priority, alongside the photographs, is to provide you with exceptional service and care. Never compromising.

Within 48 hours I send over a beautiful set of highlights (up to 100 beautifully edited photos) for you and your family to enjoy immediately. This enables thank you cards to be printed with no delay and the benefits of sharing special moments for absent friends and family. I then spend the next few weeks collating and editing to ensure you have a beautiful, well selected and carefully edited array of images which showcase your day. Included is also a beautifully designed magazine and all your images printed to enjoy.

Once you have selected all your favourites we can then discuss the organisation of a bespoke album.

 My 12 Hidden Talents

160702_TP_0852.jpg

I know all about button holes, which side and how to attach them.

I am quick at whipping off my tie and urgently handing it over to a forgetful usher - it does happen! The same goes for cufflinks.

In an emergency I can attach a bridesmaid’s hair garland.

Throughout the day I keep an eye on you both removing confetti from hair and phones from trouser pockets.

I am pretty good a bows… bow ties…bows on bridesmaids…bows on dogs…bows round napkins…

I know all the nursery rhymes and I usually carry smarties to prevent toddler meltdowns (I have one of my own).

I know how to place a veil and how far forward a tiara should sit.

I carry safety pins, a hanker-chief and hay-fever tablets.. no explanation needed!

I have a spare pocket for any of your last minute essentials. Usually lipstick and tissues.

I am good at finding granny, climbing up ladders and jumping over fences to make sure all the perfect photos are not missed.

I have even photographed all the way to the bridal suite, so I know when it is time to be around and when it is time to disappear!

I am married too, so I do understand what it is like to be on the other side of the camera (this does mean I do have a ring for emergencies!)

If this sounds like a helpful list, do get in touch…
